The Full Story

About Us

The White Lion sits in the heart of Bramcote Village, 5 miles south west of Nottingham, just off the A52.

Bramcote Village has a long history, dating back to it's first mention in the Domesday Book of 1086.

Situated just on the edge of the suburb of Beeston, Bramcote Village has a quaint and rural feel despite its proximity to the town.

A Brief History

Fondly known locally as 'The Top House', The White Lion has been around since the early 1800's. Over the years, the pub has grown from a small lounge with a snug, taking over the cottages next door to have two separate rooms on different levels, a lounge and a bar. A grade II listed building, the pub is full of original character and charm.

The Pub Today

In Autumn 2025 the pub & garden underwent a refurbishment, keeping the original character but bringing in a modern colour scheme, as well as some fresh landscaping in the garden.

The pub plays host to lots of community events including quiz nights, beer festivals village fetes and much more as well as serving fresh, classic pub food from ingredients sourced locally.

The pub also prides itself on championing local breweries with it's selection of real ales.
